Here for now

I am giving a paper at this year’s Moore College School of Theology on Exodus in culture. It has astounded me to discover how much contemporary significance the stories in Exodus have for film, literature and music. I knew that, like most biblical books, Exodus was a fertile plot for imaginative work, but I wasn’t expecting to find anything like the Margate Exodus project from just last year, with the film still to appear. My paper has suddenly come to life.

Christopher Hitchens, author of God is Not Great, and one of the most bombastic authors and speakers I have encountered (not yet in person), has a brother. He is Peter Hitchens, and he has reviewed his brother’s book. Brother Peter is a Christian, an opponent of the war in Iraq, and a self-confessed fan of faith as the leaven of society. Read both and see who seems saner.
